How to reconnect with your true self?
Everything that happens in our lives is a lesson.
As I just returned from Mexico, where I experienced many shifts and personal transformation.
I think it is perfect timing to bring you this episode.
I interviewed Michael Thornhill from Casa Galactica in Peru, where he brings Ayahuasca to help many people.
We live in a time where so many of us live disconnected lives.

There are many forms of escaping our emotions and past wounds.

Yet, we are so afraid to feel and experience emotions.
We get sucked into believing we need external validation.
We forget how lovable and enough we are.
We live unhappy lives that we struggle to fit in.

My question is, why do we have them in the first place?
Awareness is the first step to change.
BECOME THE OBSERVER OF YOUR LIFE.
AND THE ANSWERS WILL FOLLOW.

We all encounter forks on the road.
Some are "forced" upon us.
And sometimes, WE choose to change direction.
CHANGE IS INEVITABLE.
The question is how do you want to see and approach that change?
It all comes down to interpretations.
What if the change was easy?
What if it was fun?
What if the change is a portal to a new chapter of your life?

LEAN INTO YOUR EMOTIONS, NAME THEM, FEEL THEM, PROCESS THEM, AND LET GO
I loved recording this episode as it is close to my heart.
I spent years, if not decades avoiding what I felt and my emotions.
I spent years not expressing what I felt, and being vulnerable was a foreign concept to me.
I didn't know to be loved and to love.
My relationship with myself was questionable at best for many years.
Learning how to love myself and how to express and feel was a practice.
So many of us use this as a protective strategy and yet we deny that truth even to ourselves.
When we are asked, we deny that we have a problem.
Yet, we feel frustrated and disconnected, CUT OFF from our true, authentic selves.
Those coping strategies that we created to avoid feeling our emotions are keeping us away from ourselves.
They create problems in our relationships.
They keep us limited, not able to reach our potential.
They can create health problems.
We can become unaware of what are our values and what we want.
Is it worth it?
Is that how you want to be?
Are you not worth more?
In order to find your true, authentic self ...
It is so important to learn how to feel, express, process and let go of emotions that we have around our stories.
We have a CHOICE.
We can continue to engage in those coping strategies.
We can continue to feel stuck, frustrated and disconnected.
We can choose to feel, process and let go ... so that we can heal the mind.
We can choose to be curious and practice self-awareness and being present.
However, there is one caveat.
You have to get out of your head and reconnect with your heart.
How often have you got into self-doubt if you matter?
I know I have.
I repeated very unhelpful STORIES to myself for years, further reaffirming the "not-enoughness" I felt.
As humans, we want to feel like we matter and that we are being heard.
But ... Have you considered this?
Do you listen to yourself?
Do you honour your needs?
How often do you betray yourself?
How often do you get into people-pleasing?
However, your STORIES can support this or reaffirm your perceived "not-enoughness".
IT ALL STARTS WITH SELF.

Simplicity changes behaviour!
Are you aware that most of who we are, what we do and how we think is a HABIT?
I know, pretty crazy.
Habits are our superpower.
But how can we use that power to work for us?
It is pretty simple actually.
SIMPLICITY CHANGES BEHAVIOUR
But ... let's start from the beginning. What are HABITS?
HABITS are what we do without conscious effort.
Once the brain notices a pattern in what we do or how we think, it makes a note of that.
It makes those patterns automatic so that it doesn't have to use energy to run them.
Once they become automatic they run in the background, in the subconscious mind.
And why is that important?
Because HABITS run without your conscious effort, directing your life.
Often, we created those habits back in the day, and they no longer serve us.
However, the brain doesn't let go easily of already formed HABITS.
BUT you already know this.

Boundaries are about YOU!
I don't know about you but I tried no boundaries in my life and it didn't work for me.
It actually backfired on me over and over.
What I was trying to avoid by
not speaking up,
hiding behind my own shadow,
and avoid rocking the boat,
hit me even harder with a bigger price tag.
There is a deeper reason why you struggle to set clear and healthy boundaries.
It certainly was for me.
Once I discovered what was the real reason behind this unhealthy behaviour it was much easier to shift my perspective and build that muscle.
And most importantly my life improved in so many different areas.
BOUNDARIES ARE NOT ABOUT THE OTHER PERSON.
THEY ARE ABOUT YOU.
