LEAN INTO YOUR EMOTIONS, NAME THEM, FEEL THEM, PROCESS THEM, AND LET GO

I loved recording this episode as it is close to my heart.
I spent years, if not decades avoiding what I felt and my emotions.
I spent years not expressing what I felt, and being vulnerable was a foreign concept to me.
I didn't know to be loved and to love.
My relationship with myself was questionable at best for many years.
Learning how to love myself and how to express and feel was a practice.
So many of us use this as a protective strategy and yet we deny that truth even to ourselves.
When we are asked, we deny that we have a problem.

Yet, we feel frustrated and disconnected, CUT OFF from our true, authentic selves.

Those coping strategies that we created to avoid feeling our emotions are keeping us away from ourselves.
They create problems in our relationships.
They keep us limited, not able to reach our potential.
They can create health problems.
We can become unaware of what are our values and what we want.

Ask yourself.
Is it worth it?
Is that how you want to be?
Are you not worth more?

In order to find your true, authentic self ...
It is so important to learn how to feel, express, process and let go of emotions that we have around our stories.

We have a CHOICE.
We can continue to engage in those coping strategies.
We can continue to feel stuck, frustrated and disconnected.
or
We can choose to feel, process and let go ... so that we can heal the mind.
We can choose to be curious and practice self-awareness and being present.

However, there is one caveat.
You have to get out of your head and reconnect with your heart.

 

You MATTER!

I repeated very unhelpful STORIES to myself for years, further reaffirming the "not-enoughness" I felt.

 

As humans, we want to feel like we matter and that we are being heard.

Do you honour your needs?

How often do you betray yourself?

How often do you get into people-pleasing?

 

You matter.

Period.

 

However, your STORIES can support this or reaffirm your perceived "not-enoughness".

Simplicity changes behaviour!

Are you aware that most of who we are, what we do and how we think is a HABIT?

I know, pretty crazy.

Habits are our superpower.

But how can we use that power to work for us?

It is pretty simple actually.

SIMPLICITY CHANGES BEHAVIOUR

But ... let's start from the beginning. What are HABITS?

HABITS are what we do without conscious effort.

Once the brain notices a pattern in what we do or how we think, it makes a note of that.

It makes those patterns automatic so that it doesn't have to use energy to run them.

Once they become automatic they run in the background, in the subconscious mind.

And why is that important?

Because HABITS run without your conscious effort, directing your life.

Often, we created those habits back in the day, and they no longer serve us.

However, the brain doesn't let go easily of already formed HABITS.

BUT you already know this.
